Lemon Garlic Sauteed Cabbage

  • 1 Cabbage head
  • 1 small Onion finely sliced
  • 10 Garlic pods
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Carrot Grated -To Serve
  • 2 Spring onions diced-To Serve


  • Wash the cabbage head. Cut or shred the cabbage finely.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan.
  • Add minced garlic and onions.
  • Sautee till it's fragrant and littletranslucent.
  • Add in shredded cabbage to the pan. Mix well.
  • Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper.
  • Sauté on medium-high flame for 5 minutes.
  • As it gets cooked cabbage will wilt downand the amount will reduce.
  • Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  • Cabbage will leave little water while getting cooked.
  • It's tender now. Turn the flame to high.
  • Sauté on medium-high flame for 5 minutes.
  • Keep stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off heat and add some cilantro leavesto the cabbage.
  • Add in lemon juice and serve with gratedcarrot and diced spring onion.


Wash and pat dry the cabbage head before chopping.
After adding salt, cover with a lid and keep on low flame for some time. This will help in releasing extra moist of cabbage.
Don’t add any extra water in this recipe.
